Our involvement in India started as early as in Year 2001. Together wit
h Ps Francis Lazarus, we prayer-walked Mumbai. Not knowing where and what we could do but with a heart believing that God would show us His way. God did and He led us to start a work among the community of railway workers and their families. Many of the men work in the railway stations.Through hard labor and after much prayer, God finally led Ps Francis to a family in that community who welcomed them warmly. When we first visited the family's home, their place was not larger than a typical single HDB's room’s size. There were only a few members.
It was in this humble abode that Ps Francis Lazarus, together with his assistant pastor and a mission team of three S’poreans, started his very first cell meeting.
I remembered vividly on that night of the cell meeting I was led by God to share on Mark 2:1-2. When we arrived there, I was discouraged to see only a handful turned up for the meeting. In worship I closed my eyes asking God to help me with my disappointment.
God did not just assure me of His sovereignty but as the worship approached the end, lo and behold when I opened my eyes, I could not believe what I saw. Right in front of me stood a multitude of people looking at me and everywhere my eyes could see was faces after faces. Not only the house was packed with people, there were many trying to squeeze through every opening they could find just to get into our cell meeting. It is as in Mark 2:1-2 :

“1A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.”

That night, we knew God has started a church right here among the railway workers community.

What started off as a small gathering of less than 5 people, it grew to a few tens within one year and by Year 2008, it has grown into a 300 odd members' church "Halleluja Church".
In the early years of the church development, we have supported financially the work of Ps Francis. In the coming years Faithpartners will be helping to conduct cell training, leadership training and will be involved actively in the development of livelihood projects for the poor people in partnership with Ps Francis Lazarus.
We are looking forward to sponsorship of S$25,000 for the various projects to seek to alleviate the poverty of these people.
